Summoned by my call, he
draws me from my verdant
well. From the deep water,
I slowly rise, swaying, smashing
against the current – snaring
myself in his unrelenting grip.
With his arms tight around my
waist, he pulls me until my spine
crushes against timbered walls.
With the weight of his words –
now wrathful, breathless –
and a fiery flick of his tongue,
I buckle; I shatter into a thousand
drops of silver.
